MiP national officer Jim Keegan is retiring in June, and MiP is now recruiting his replacement
Managers in Partnership (MiP) is a unique trade union organisation representing 6,000 senior healthcare managers. Created by the FDA and UNISON in 2005, MiP has established a strong reputation for member representation, influence and voice. We are looking for a national officer to support and speak up for members at a time of unprecedented uncertainty and rapid change. This is an interesting, demanding job in a highly motivated and friendly team.
You will be strongly committed to the values of trade union organisation, improving people’s working lives and diversity. You must be an independent self-starter who can work well in a team, an effective representative and someone interested in innovative ways to build our union. Ideally, you will have a grasp of healthcare organisation, policy and management.
As an MiP national officer, you will advise and represent MiP members in your patch on a wide range of employment problems and issues; engage and negotiate with NHS employers, regionally and locally; lead the recruitment and organisation of members in your area, including supporting our growing network of link members; and, finally, play an active part in our national team. This national officer post is home-based.
Closing date: Wednesday 15th February 2012.
Interviews will be held in March 2012.
