Governance

MiP is a national branch of Unison and a section of the FDA. Our members therefore belong to both unions. A management board of senior officers from Unison and FDA agrees MiP’s overall strategy and our budget and determines how MiP members get involved in both unions. A national committee of MiP members sets all our policy concerning healthcare, representation of members and recruitment.

Our parent unions

Unison - The public service union UNISON
Unison is the largest public sector union representing more than 1.3 million members and is by far the largest union in the NHS.

FDA Logo The FDA
The FDA is the union of choice for senior managers and professionals in public service with more than 13,000 members including policy advisors, chief executives, special advisers, lawyers, economists, statisticians, tax inspectors and diplomats.

Who’s who on the interim national committee

David Amos - Chair of National Committee“I am delighted to be the chair of MiP’s interim national committee. I am joining a strong and representative team of colleagues from throughout the health service. We want to make MiP pivotal with policy makers and the media. The management community has needed an influential trade union organisation that stands up for us robustly and maturely for years. Now we need MiP more than ever.” David Amos, Chair of National Committee
