Corrado looks after MiP members working in North West England, NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSI). As a national officer, he represents and advises members, supports local reps and link members, and negotiates with employers in his area.

He also represents MiP members on the partnership forum and workforce engagement forum for the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, the regional partnership forum for North West England, and the Cheshire and Merseyside STP forum. Corrado is also a member of the Health and Wellbeing Task and Finish Group, which brings together CCGs and local councils in Greater Manchester.

Corrado is a registered nurse and holds a Masters degree in legal practice. He is also an accredited mediator with CEDR and the College of Mediators.

As well as keeping the MiP team up to date with legal and nursing issues, Corrado has special interest and expertise in employment rights for transferred staff (TUPE), organisational change, redundancy, mediation and alternative dispute resolution.

Corrado joined MiP in 2011. Previously he worked as a regional officer for the Royal College of Nursing, as a specialist employment adviser for the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, a university lecturer and in clinical nursing and management for the NHS.

Away from work, Corrado is a director of a non-healthcare-related company and a mediator with Manchester City Council. He loves travelling to far-flung places, preferably cold ones, where he enjoys skiing and winter sports, and puts his reindeer driving licence to use. He enjoys formal studying in sciences and is now learning Portuguese and Norwegian. Corrado loves food and cooking but admits to being a bit fanatical about going to the gym.

MiP and Employers
We seek to work in partnership with employers, helping organisations to protect their employees and manage change effectively
Sustainability and Transformation Plans may save the NHS or drag it further into the mire. But staff and patients have been shut out of the conversation so far.
