Pete looks after MiP members in the East and West Midlands, and those employed by NHS England. As a national officer, he represents and advises members, supports local reps and link members, and negotiates with employers in his area. He also represents MiP members on the regional Social Partnership Forum for the Midlands and East of England. 

Pete has worked for MiP since 2009, having previously been a regional officer for UNISON and a charge nurse at the Dudley Group of Hospitals.

Pete’s areas of special expertise are nursing issues and the Agenda for Change pay and grading system. While working for UNISON, he was the lead negotiator on Agenda for Change in the region.

Pete is leader of the Labour group on Dudley Council and was leader of the council from 2014 to 2017. Away from the office, Pete is a Wolves season ticket holder, helps to run a music charity in Stourbridge and serves on the Black Country Festival committee.
