As a manager working in the health and care sector, you have one of the most important and worthwhile jobs in the country. But it is also one of the most testing and, too often, the least stable: overseeing service delivery in a highly politicised, underfunded, fast-changing and very complex policy and organisational landscale, you face a wide range of risks and challenges.

Too often, health and care managers are badly treated in disciplinary, redundancy and organisational change processes, or subject to bullying or discrimination. And whilst politicians are – quite rightly – quick to praise junior health and care staff, few are as eager to defend the clinical and managerial professionals who lead organisations and oversee service delivery.
Managers in Partnership exists to protect, defend and champion health and care managers. We provide individual representation services, giving you one-to-one support through employer disputes and disciplinary proceedings. We represent you collectively with employers and government, fighting for better renumeration and conditions. We champion your interests in the public debate, challenging ‘manager-bashing’. And we offer training, events and peer support to help you build your skills and develop your career.
Depending on your earnings, our monthly fees range from £20.85 to £22.90 for part-time staff, and from £25.60 to £33.80 for full-timers; management trainees may join for just £10 per year, and all of our fees have been frozen for some years. For this, you secure the peace of mind that comes with access to personal, one-to-one support through any employment problems that you experience – not to mention our campaigning and lobbying work, plus access to discounted training and other services.

Managers in Partnership is open to everyone who works in a health or care organisation within the UK; earns a basic salary of at least £40,000; and has a management responsibility. See our Am I Eligible? page for more details
If you join Managers in Partnership with an existing HR problem, or if a new problem arises within four weeks of your joining, then our national officers will provide personal advice and guidance – but we can only offer our full individual representation service for HR issues that arise after that period.
Our members reach across the four constituent nations of the UK; the public, private and voluntary sectors; senior leaders, managers, clinicians and specialist professionals; national bodies, commissioners and provider organisations; health services and social care.
