Help your career and benefit your pocket

Access to benefits, discounts and training alongside the specialist career development and professional community only a union dedicated to senior health and care managers can provide.

Plus all the benefits and back up of our two partner unions
As a member of MIP you get the benefits of belonging to a specialist union for managers in the NHS and health sectors whilst getting all the member benefits of belonging to UNISON, the largest trade union in the UK, and the FDA, the only union dedicated to senior civil servants.
Who should join
Managers and senior healthcare professionals working in all areas of healthcare including:
National bodies across the UK
We have a large and growing membership within national bodies including NHS England and NHS Improvement, the Care Quality Commission, NHS Scotland and NHS Wales.
NHS providers & local bodies
Most of our members work for NHS trusts, clinical commissioning groups and commissioning support units, in England, health boards in Scotland and Wales and health and social care trusts in Northern Ireland.
Independent healthcare
MIP actively supports members working in both the private and voluntary sectors. Many face the same issues and challenges that their colleagues in the NHS do, as well as a whole set of challenges unique to their sectors.
Social care
The need for investment in social care has never been greater. As government grapples with the challenge, it is our members who are on the frontline and we are there to defend their interests and campaign for the sector.

Membership starts from just £20.85 per month

We charge monthly subscriptions on a sliding scale, based on your salary and your grade. We collect subscriptions one month in arrears. See our handy calculator to work out your subscription.
Discounts and benefits

Other unions may offer one set of discounts and benefits, we don't know any which offer two!

As full members of UNISON and the FDA you get access to their both their discount programmes.

You also get full access to their training and career development services through Unison Member Learning and FDA Learn.

What our members are saying
Previous Next
Thank you so much, you gave me more support than I could ever have expected and will always be extremely grateful for your wisdom and sound advice. You never gave up on me.
You may not need direct support for many years but when you do,  you get the ‘platinum guidance and support’ and will realise the value of joining MiP.  I know I will remain a member of MiP and will most certainly be strongly encouraging other colleagues to join.
I was so pleased to have MiP's support in negotiating my settlement agreement. You really listened to my concerns and took the time to appreciate what I needed to achieve. You gave impartial advice and guidance, including the risks but left the decisions to me which made me feel supported and empowered.
