Members' Summit

The MiP Members’ Summit is our annual event for members. Held in the autumn, the Summit is a full day of interactive training and practical workshops, debate about the union’s work, and networking with other members from across the UK. The Summit gives you personal support and a voice, both as an employee and as a professional healthcare manager.

Members' summit audience
After several years running conferences packed with speakers and panel debates, in 2017 we moved to offer something more practical and participative – giving you the chance to learn from each other, shape the union’s policies and priorities, and engage directly with system leaders and partners. We want an event you can really take part in, but without the formality and procedural trappings of a traditional union conference.

The 2018 Summit took place on 6 November at Congress Centre, London, building on the new format adopted in 2017. It included:

  • Presentations on NHS pay and pensionRegional workshops to discuss local developments and plan MiP’s response
  • Interactive workshops led by experts, covering topics including staff health and wellbeing
  • Presentations on NHS pay and pensions
  • A keynote by Caroline Corrigan, NHS Improvement's national director of people strategy
  • Policy debates on Brexit, NHS funding and support for managers in the workplace

For more details, see our News page for reports on many of the sessions.
