MiP National Committee By-Elections 2025: How to stand

MiP is electing a new National Committee to take office on January 1 2026 and serve a two year term. All relevant forms and guides for this election are available to download at the bottom of this page.
Being part of our National Committee will enable you to decide the issues MiP campaign on, inform our industrial strategy, determine our position on health and employment policy and to shape MiP’s member events. For more information on the National Committee please visit this page.
Following the conclusion of the initial nomination process, MiP has reopened nominations for the National Committee in constituencies which still have vacancies. This nomination process will only apply to the seats that are vacant and all reps who have already been successfully nominated and elected are not due to take part in this process.
By-Election timetable
- Nominations are open now and will close at 5pm on Monday 3 November.
Eligibility
MiP’s National Committee is made up of members who are accredited workplace reps. To stand for election to the Committee, you must have completed MiP’s workplace rep training prior to taking office on 1 January 2026.
To be eligible for election you also must have been an MiP member for at least 13 weeks on the date nominations open and be up to date with your contributions to MiP.
Constituencies
Our Committee members represent constituencies and can only stand for election in the constituency they work. Members wishing to stand for election must be nominated by three members who also work in their constituency. Nominations forms can be found on this page.

- Wales x1
- London x1
- South East Coast x1
- East of England x1
