MiP will be joining our fellow trade unions by taking part in the TUC’s “We Demand Better” march and rally on Saturday 18 June in London. The event is non-party political and will be demanding a new deal for working people.
Inviting all members to join us for the march, MiP chief executive Jon Restell said: “MiP members tell us that the cost of living crisis affects them in two ways: personally, as the value of their earnings is eroded, and as managers who see how badly rising prices have hit lower paid staff in the NHS. This is why we are joining the TUC’s march.”
Where to meet
MiP head office at Centenary House, 93–95 Borough High Street, London, SE1 1NL will be open from 9.30am. Members are welcome to join us there for breakfast before the march.
We will set off from Centenary House by 10.30am to head to the start of the march at Portland Place, London.
The march departs at 12 noon and members are also welcome to meet us directly at Portland Place.
The march & rally
The march will head down Regent Street, before turning on to Haymarket and through Trafalgar Square, onto Whitehall before ending in Parliament Square for the rally. The route is 1.7 miles long.
The rally in Parliament Square will run from around 1pm until 2.30pm.
This is a family friendly event and not strictly for union members, so please do feel free to bring along family, friends or colleagues who wish to show their support.
